Development Has Resumed
I'm pleased to announce that this project is back in development. Trials of Ninja is a game about a ninja overcoming obstacles to escape a mysterious world.
Graphical and Technical Overhaul, and 3D Animations
This game has been rebuilt from scratch to support 3d animations and rework the mechanics. We developed a cel-shaded art style for the game that we are constantly tweaking. the shader must be able to accomplish the complex environments we plan to implement within the game.
Progression
Some light progression has been added to give the game a goal to accomplish. The overall goal has not yet been developed. It features Metroidvania like traversal and exploration.
Abilities
New abilities have been added to complement the gameplay. You can now climb walls, jump multiple times, dash, and much more. There is no one way to overcome obstacles, though some obstacle offers fewer solutions rather than more.
Checkpoint System
A new checkpoint system has been build to complement the gameplay. When you die you spawn to the last checkpoint you have been to. The map allows you to place checkpoints at will. In the full game, this ability will be more restrictive.
