I played on PC with a mouse. The enemies did not fight back so I just played with movement and the combat system by using them as punching bags.
The movement felt natural and was easy to use but it took me a while to figure out the arrows on each side of the screen were how to turn around.
Combat seemed to be just clicking without dragging and I could not figure out if there was a way to change the type of attack (Kicking/Punching/a harder punch) but I did have a lot of fun dragging and then attacking to do the jump kick, or dragging a little and attacking to do the 2 leg kick. The little bit of screen shake made it feel very satisfying.
I really like the retro sound effects. Overall I felt like the prototype has a lot of promise let me know when the enemies fight back I want to try it again. Also let me know if they already fight back and I just did something wrong.. I'll play it again tonight.
Thanks for playing. I'm working on the AI for the enemies. I'm new to AI in games so it's taking me some time to implement. For now they are just dummies. I know that i have to create a tutorial system to teach player how to play the game but i haven't got around to that yet. I'm mainly trying to tweak the combat system rite now. The game is all about fighting so i have to ensure that i get the combat right. I want the player to be able to execute badass combos, So i'm playing around with animations and frame data, adding a little more mechanics as i go. It is a very early prototype, but one i'm quite proud of.
You should be proud of it, the movement and attacks felt good. If there was less debug info on screen I probably would have figured out how to turn around a lot faster (I thought the arrows were going to open up some kind of menu). I'm serious that I want to play this more when I can actually fight, message me when you need new play testers.
