Recent Fixes and Updates.
Bug Fixes Coming out of IMJG17.
The weapon switch buttons were not working they have been fixed. Pressing "1" equips weapon 1, and pressing "2" equips weapon 2. The mouse wheel works the same.
Name and Branding Change
I've always found the Name Tactical Bullet Hell Shooter a bit much to actually say, so I was always planning to change the name of the project, once I found a good name that is. I'm now renaming the project to Bullet Masters Tournament.
Quality of Life Changes.
Ui was needed to show when you have an item equipped. I've added it but I have to tweak its display a bit.
You now regenerate armor after 4 seconds without taking a hit, This is indicated by electric sparks that communicate when your armor is broken. Your health is separate from your armor. Armor is 4 Hits while Health is 3 Hits.
I have removed some animations from certain gameplay situations as they were being more of a nuisance than serving their original purpose i.e. to display useful information to the player. The player can now run while holding an item and will not change state when they choose to run nor will this happen when you are hit. On a hit, you now just flash white and your animation state is not affected.
I have installed some addons in the game that seems to great add functionality and ease of use to build certain aspects of the game. There is an awesome addon called SmartShape2D that helps greatly with creating interesting shapes in the level editing tool and also it allows me to use textures that greatly enhance to look and feel of the game. Using Bridge, Blender, and Gimp I am able to make awesome terrain and art assets that help the aesthetics greatly in achieving its goals.
AI Updates
The AI Now has States associated with its behavior. Such as when it's alerted, attacking, searching, and more. The Ai seems a bit weaker now but a bit smarter. There are some bugs associated with navigation but this will be fixed in a further update.
Game Balancing Issues
I've adjusted the bullet speed of the guns increasing their speed. This makes the game a quicker pace and results in more high-intensity gameplay. There are a lot of new ideas that are present in this build that has not been fully tested so weapon may seem overpowered or weak at the moment.
New Items
Items have been added to the game and also some old items have been updated. Some of the new items are as follows.
Also, the Item system has been revamped to allow collision of dropped items. This allows for all types of unpredictable kinds of interactions. Also, the Item sprites have been changed to reflect the different items you are able to use.
