Updates

Loadout Customisation

  • I have added the ability to update your loadout with guns and equipment of your choice. There are three categories. Your weapons, (i.e. Your Primary and Secondary Guns), your items (i.e. Your Tactical Items, Health packs, and More), and your perks. Each loadout has 2 weapons 5 items and 3 perks. Perks are a new game mechanic and have no implemented functionality yet outside the Destroy Bullet Bomb Key bound to "perk3". More Functionally to be added over time.

Animations and Skins

  • The animation system has been fully reworked to facilitate gun colors and skins, shoot, grenade throwing, and reload animations while walking. The previous animation system only used one sprite to convey all the information to the player, This system splits it up into three layers. The legs the body and the gun.
  • Animation sprite has been optimizing for performance. Sprite sheets were made to fit all 60 frame animation on one sheet. By doing this we were able to reduce the space required by the disk by 4000%. From over 40Mb to just 1Mb approx.
  • Tweaking the animation has made quite a few bugs pop up, that greatly impacts gameplay. Most of these have been fixed.
  • The A.I. Character has developed bugs due to the animation changes. Some tweaks have been made however nothing but animation fixes.
  • Bullet, Muzzle flash, and Gun scenes have been reworked to free up processing in scenes that don't need to process that specific data.


User Interface Tweaking

  • We have updated the UI a bit

A new build will be released soon with all the updates and more but for now, I am just posting this Devlog. The current branch is not stable to release a game build. As soon as I identify and fix all the major bugs, I will release the new build.
