Animation Bug Fixes

  • There were some animation bugs that happened when the player was in holster state and when they reloaded a weapon or threw an Item. This was fixed using a reset method that reset the animation based on the player being in holstered state or not.
  • With the addition of the below Player Weapon Rig Changes, I have decided to add unique sprites to weapon items.  

Level and Campaign Updates

  • The Demo Levels have been updated. The Levels were boring so I began to update them and make them more fun to play even with the current A.I. Consistently coming up with challenges to overcome for the player will be a challenge in itself. I think Smarter A.I. will be an important factor in this. However, I am focusing on level layout rather than the challenge of battling the A.I. characters.


Player Weapon Rig Changes

  • Originally, the player had two(2) weapons, five(5) items, and three(3) perks. To promote players playing in more different ways than the same ways, I introduced a new weapon rig layout. Now the player has only one(1) main weapon, one(1) side weapon, five(5) items, and one(1) perk.
  • Main Weapons:- These are your most powerful weapons. Usually rifles, Shotguns, Machine guns, and more.
  • Side Weapons:- Usually a weapon that will compliment your main weapon, But a different pool of weapons.
  • Items:- Grenades, Smokes, Health Packs, Armor Packs, and more.
  • Perks:- Are one-time use Items that are usually overpowered.

User Interface Updates

  • The User Interface Art, for both Items and Weapons, has been changed, both in-game and on menus. This change has made me think about the art style, and as a result, I may do some drastic changes to the art style.
  • Weapons UI now shows the Color of the weapon as the weapon background. This makes knowing what gun you are currently wielding much easier.
  • Perks have been added to the Loadout UI. Place holder Art is used for the Image. Only one Perk is currently available.

  • The weapon switch mechanic, on the mouse wheel, has been changed so that the player scroll wheel's up for his Main weapon and scroll wheel down for the alternate weapon. Previously it functioned as a wheel, however, this made switching weapons annoying. The solution was to stop the gun menu from changing position and only modify the scale to ensure the player is not confused about what input they should enter.

Known Bugs Report

  • Movement Input Bug:- There is a bug that makes your character input vector stick to a value. A fix has not been found for this yet.
  • Lag with Speed Run Strats:- If the player decides to speed run the level he can run into lag, due to the amt of enemies, bullets, and scenes in general that are loaded. I am looking into fixing this.
